Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. is truly a global media and entertainment empire. Neck and neck with Bertelsmann for the #4 spot among media conglomerates (Time Warner, Viacom, and Disney are the largest), it publishes scores of newspapers (The Times of London), magazines (The Weekly Standard), and books (HarperCollins). The company's 83%-owned Fox Entertainment Group has significant entertainment holdings, including Fox Broadcasting in the US, Twentieth Century Fox, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. It also owns 22 US TV stations and cable and satellite stations in Australia, Europe, and Latin America. About 75% of News Corp.'s sales are from its US businesses. Murdoch's family owns about 30% of the company.

Fox Entertainment, which is 83%-owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, is one of the largest entertainment conglomerates in the world. Fox Entertainment produces, develops, and distributes TV and motion picture programming (including Ally McBeal, The X-Files, and Titanic) through its Fox Filmed Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox units. It also owns the FOX television network, Fox Cable Networks, and 22 TV stations across the US. Fox Entertainment also has interests in major league sports teams.
